Here is the main reason why we have a webpage. Everyone wants to see new Caleb photos and get Caleb updates. They don't want to learn about the whole family, it's really only about Caleb. Of course, since you're already here, you might as well check out the other pages also. *grin*

So much has happened since our last update on December 30, 2002 (click to see Caleb's archived page}. Unless you have a child of your own, you wouldn't believe how fast babies grow and change. Let's see if we can remember some of what's happened since the beginning of the year...
Caleb 3 months

Caleb has GROWN!  Not that he was tiny to begin with, being a whopping 10lbs 2oz, but he lost weight after his birth. We had feeding problems and I couldn't make enough milk, so he went down to 8 lbs something. At 6 weeks old, he was still that low. He almost had to go to the hospital for "Failure to Thrive." We supplemented him with formula while trying to get my milk supply in. Unfortunately, it never came in, but Caleb continued to eat formula (and the occasional snack from Mama) and started to THRIVE! He quickly gained weight. At his 4 month wellness visit, he was 19 lbs and 27 inches long. He was in the 95th percentile for height and weight (that means 95% of infants his age are smaller than him).Caleb in Black and White Now, at 5 months old, he's about 21 lbs and around 30 inches long. He's fitting into 18 month clothing! He's a chubbo, but, thankfully, he's also tall!

Caleb has 2 teeth! His first one came in May 6, 2003 and the 2nd emerged on Mother's Day, May 11, 2003. He's now rolling all over the floor, trying to get to places, and sitting up unassisted (when you place him that way). You can also see him trying to crawl. It won't be too long now. If you stand him up on his legs, he will stand for awhile, while holding onto the coffee table. He loves to "pat" things (ie, read slap). His favorite game has to be playing on the piano (or computer keyboard). He also loves to play Peek-a-boo. His favorite songs are The Itsy Bitsy Spider and The Apple of My Eye. He really is a very happy baby. We have been extremely blessed.

In April, Caleb started solids. He began with Rice cereal, moved to Oatmeal and then enjoyed Barley. On his 5 month birthday, we introduced him to veggies!! We began with greenbeans (pictures of both experiences are shown in the slideshow) and then tried peas, squash abd potatoes. He's enjoying the different flavors of food, even though he still makes faces if the flavors are strong.  It takes awhile to introduce all the different foods since you have to wait 3-5 days before introducing another flavor, to make sure they aren't allergic. Once he's tried all the veggies, we're going to introduce fruit. I'm sure he'll love that!

On Mother's Day, 2003, Jared and I dedicated Caleb back to God. God blessed us with a  beautiful and happy baby and following the Biblical example, we gave Caleb back to God. The pastor held Caleb in front of the church and prayed for him. It was an emotional time for us. Jared and I pray that
Caleb will grow to be a strong man of God. I thank the Lord for this wonderful blessing!

Don't forget to check out Caleb's slideshow and thumbnails. We have some old pictures and many many new pictures in this slideshow. You can really see how Caleb has grown in his few short months. We'll be celebrating his 6 month birthday in a couple weeks. A half a year....wow...so exciting.

UPDATE UPDATE!!

Caleb is 6 months old now and just had his doctor's visit. Here are his recent stats:

Weight: 24 lbs

Height: 31 inches

Head: 19 inches.

He's in the 99th percentile for all aspects! He may be a big one, but at least he's proportionate!
